Valeur and associated services and activities, including this website, are developed and marketed by Valeur Customer Service A/S.

Valeur Customer Service A/S is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In Valeur’s privacy policy, we explain what personal information we collect, how we collect it, and for what purposes. This includes, among other things, that we:

  • Provide a detailed explanation of the personal information we collect and how we collect it.
  • Clearly state the purposes and legal basis for processing personal information.
  • Strive to limit the collection of personal information to legitimate purposes only.

Who is responsible for your personal information?

Valeur Customer Service A/S is responsible for the collection and processing of your personal information in connection with Valeur’s privacy policy.

 

Why do we collect your personal information?

When you choose to fill out a form on our website or contact us, we will ask you for some personal information about yourself, as well as some optional information about yourself. The main purposes for which we use your personal information are:

  • To communicate with you personally, for example, by responding to your inquiry, feedback, or service request and recording and processing complaints.
  • To keep you updated on our commercial developments and personalized offers based on your order history and behavior on the website, using electronic and physical communications, such as our newsletter.
  • To use automated processing of your personal data to evaluate, analyze, and predict your personal preferences and interests in order to target our marketing communications to match such preferences and interests.

  • To manage your participation in any competition, sales campaign, survey, or features on the website.
  • To manage your account on our website and in our CRM.

We only process your personal information where we have a legal basis to do so. The corresponding legal bases for processing your personal data for the above purposes are:

The personal information we process

When you use our website, you leave certain data with us or our service providers or agents, which may include personal information. We store and use only the personal information that you have provided to us or that was clearly provided to us for the purposes of the aforementioned data processing, or as stated when you provided us with the personal information. We do not use the personal information for other purposes unless you have given us your consent. The following categories of personal data may be processed by us:

  • Contact information (e.g., first and last name, mailing address, email address, phone number).
  • Other personal data (e.g., gender, date of birth (optional), nationality, language).
  • Preferences, interests, previous purchases, incomplete purchases, location.
  • Cookie information collected through a device used by you in accordance with the applicable cookie policy of the website where the cookie was placed.

 

How do we share your personal information?

We may share your personal information with a third-party service provider or agent (also referred to as “data processors”) that performs certain processing activities on our behalf, including the activities mentioned in this policy, such as parties involved in marketing initiatives (such as sending newsletters and sales campaigns). We will neither sell, rent, lease, nor disclose your personal information to third parties or allow them to use your personal information for their own purposes. We use third-party service providers for website hosting or payment processing for courier services and third-party advertising.

We enter into so-called “data processing agreements” with all parties processing your personal data on our behalf to ensure that they are legally obligated to keep your data confidential, implement appropriate security measures, notify us of any data security breaches, and fulfill other obligations to protect your privacy.

Furthermore, we will disclose your personal information where required by law, necessary to prevent or combat fraud, necessary for dispute resolution, or for other compelling legitimate reasons where the circumstances outweigh the protection of your personal information, which may include the safety of the company or our employees.

We share personal data between Valeur Customer Service A/S affiliated companies in accordance with binding corporate rules registered with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. We share personal information with third-party advertisers.

 

Commercial communication

We would like to send you information about Valeur and associated services that may be of interest to you based on your purchase history and behavior on the website, through email and other communication channels, but we will only do so if (i) you specifically consent to receiving such communication from us, or (ii) you have purchased a product or service from us that is similar to the product or service we would like to inform you about, and you did not object to receiving such communications at the time of purchase.

You will always have the option to unsubscribe from further communication from us by clicking the “Unsubscribe” option in the footer of the emails you receive from us or by accessing your profile online and changing your communication preferences.

 

How do we protect your data?

We protect your personal information with various security measures. This includes the use of secure registration forms, data encryption, and restriction of access to your personal information.

 

What are the retention periods?

Collected personal information will not be retained longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in Valeur’s privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required and permitted by law. Here are some examples:

  • Your purchase: All personal information related to your purchase will be retained until the order is completed and for two years after the legal warranty period has expired, unless you have registered for an account. In that case, the data will be retained for the period indicated below. Please note that certain personal information may need to be retained for a longer period to comply with legal (tax) obligations.

  • Your account: Personal information related to your account (such as your username, password, invoices, and other personal information stored in your account) will be retained until the moment you decide to delete your account and three months thereafter.

  • When you contact us: If you choose to communicate with us, we will retain all personal information we have received as long as necessary to handle your request and three months thereafter.

  • Your subscription to our commercial communications: If you have subscribed to our newsletter or other forms of commercial communication, all personal information processed for this purpose, such as your name and email address, will be retained until the moment you decide to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe, we may retain your (email) address and add it to a list of parties who have unsubscribed. In that case, the data will be retained for three months after you unsubscribe but only for the purposes indicating that you do not wish to receive commercial communication.

  • If you participate in competitions, surveys, and product testing: All personal information that may be processed during competitions, surveys, and your participation in product testing will be retained for two years after the data was collected.

 

Data transfers

We store your personal information on a cloud service.

We may store your personal information on a cloud service. As a result, your personal information may be processed by a cloud service provider on our behalf and stored in different locations around the world. We have entered into contracts with such cloud service providers and have taken necessary organizational measures to protect your personal information and ensure that it is used solely for the purposes stated in Valeur’s privacy policy.

 

Children

We do not contact children under the age of 16.

We strongly recommend that parents actively monitor their children’s activities online. It is generally not our intention to collect personal information from children, nor do we intend to communicate with children. However, in cases where we are required to communicate with a child, we will make reasonable efforts to provide parents or legal guardians with the opportunity to give their consent before using the child’s personal information, except when responding to the child’s inquiries or servicing the child’s requests.

 

Your rights

Any commercial communication you receive provides the option to unsubscribe from further commercial communication (i.e., object to the use of your personal information for this purpose). We will make our best efforts to fulfill your request to unsubscribe as quickly as possible and within a practical timeframe. Please note that if you unsubscribe from commercial communication, we may still send you important administrative notifications that you cannot unsubscribe from.

You can also request to review, correct, update, suppress, restrict, or delete personal information you have previously provided to us, or request to receive an electronic copy of your personal information for the purpose of transmitting it to another company (to the extent this right to data portability is available to you under applicable law) by contacting us at valeur@valeur.dk and providing your name (company) and address. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

In your request, please make it clear which personal information you would like to have changed and whether you would like your personal information to be hidden from our database. For your security, we can only accommodate requests regarding personal information associated with the specific email address you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. We will attempt to fulfill your request as soon as possible and within a practical timeframe.

Please note that we may need to retain certain information for registration purposes and/or to complete transactions you initiated before requesting a change or deletion (e.g., when making a purchase or participating in a sales campaign, you may not be able to change or delete personal information provided before the completion of that specific purchase or participation in the sales campaign).

 

Role of data protection authorities
